It is compact and centered." ~ Dr. Bill HolmanProfessor of Music, Brigham Young University - Idaho BioBill began his professional career following graduation from Florida State University (Harry Schmidt) and joining The United States Army Band, "Pershing’s Own," in Washington, D.C. While receiving his Master of Music from The Catholic University of America, Bill studied with Harold Wright and Robert Genovese, clarinetists in the National Symphony. At the University of Iowa (Thomas Ayres, Himie Voxman) he received his MFA and DMA in clarinet performance. Bill has been the principal clarinetist in the Cedar Rapids Symphony, The National Symphony of Colombia, and performed with the Jacksonville Symphony and The First Coast Wind Ensemble. Bill is the founding member of the Bela Trio and The Quintet of the Americas. Dr. Holman taught junior high school band for seventeen years in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and clarinet at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.He currently teaches the clarinet studio, woodwind methods and band practicum at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. He is a Rico Reed artist/representative and performs on the Cannonball Arezzo Piacere clarinets. |
